QR Codes, Centers and Differentiation
QR Code — abbreviated from Quick Response Code — is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) first designed for the automotive industry. More recently, the system has become popular outside of the industry due to its fast readability and large storage capacity compared to standard UPC barcodes.

Fish Stories Audioboo and QR Codes for First Grade Dig. Storytelling
First Grade students in Mrs. Averill's class created these lovely fish pictures in art. Then they wrote stories about their fish in the classroom. The teacher created a free account on Audioboo.com.
Other voice recorders
Mrs. Averill had the students record their stories using the Audioboo App on ipads and ipods. Once saved, each recording is associated with it's own URL and can be access on the Audioboo website.
The teacher used the QR code generator Kaywa to create the QR codes. No account is needed on Kaywa you just paste in the URL for each recording and it generates the QR code.
QR codes and be put into a word doc, printed out and glued onto each child's fish picture.
Last and final step. Download QR readers onto your handheld device. Several I like are....

Qrafter
Mrs. Averill even sent the parents a note and many came to the evening event with the QR reader on their phone. They were then able to email or forward the recordings to grandparents or parents who couldn't attend. A big success.
